Alkagesta took part in the 2026 Argus Fertilizer Caspian, Black Sea and Eastern European Markets Conference in Istanbul, where discussions centred on developing export markets, changing trade routes and approaches to commercial cooperation. According to Alkagesta Media, the Argus Media-organised event attracted more than 450 attendees representing over 250 companies from 45 countries.
The two-day programme brought together fertiliser traders, producers and businesses providing services to the trade. Its regional agenda covered the Caspian, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Alkagesta’s delegation comprised Vusal Muradov, its Fertilizer Desk Lead, Fertilizer Trader Tural Sabirzade and Mustafa Yigit Shen from its operations function. The company said its representatives met traders, producers, logistics providers and market intelligence specialists during the gathering.
In its account of the conference, Alkagesta Media described a fertiliser market facing substantial complexity as disruption along important shipping corridors puts supply arrangements under strain. It argued that networks designed primarily for efficiency had proved vulnerable when transport routes were disrupted. The company’s assessment was that the recovery of physical supply movements takes time, rather than occurring immediately once a disruption begins to ease.
Alkagesta said its fertiliser desk handles nitrogen, phosphate and speciality products, drawing supplies from global origins and directing them towards destinations with strong agricultural fundamentals. It described long-term supply relationships as a priority across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, as well as emerging agricultural markets. That geographical reach sits alongside the conference’s focus on changing flows and cooperation between producers, traders and service providers.
Separately, Alkagesta Media reported that the company had recently obtained access to the Argus Open Markets window for European biodiesel, HVO and UCO. It presented that access as part of Alkagesta’s expanding involvement in Argus price assessment processes across commodity segments beyond fertilisers.
